Goal
To explain how to generate new tags in the system. Tags are used to categorize items (such as materials or orders) and can trigger specific system behaviors, such as machine speed exceptions.
Procedure
Step 1: Navigate to Settings - Tag
Navigate to Settings > Tag and click the Add new button to open the configuration window.
If you don't see a specific item in settings contact your administrator or see article in FAQ - Settings: Q: Why do I not see a certain item in settings?.
Name: Enter a unique name for your tag in the mandatory Name field (e.g., "Corrugated" or "Urgent").
Data Type (Scope): Select where this tag should be available using the Data type dropdown.
Specific Use: Select a specific module (e.g., Article, Activity, or Operation) if you want the tag to appear only for that specific type of data.
Global Use: Leave this field blank if you want the tag to be available globally across the entire system.
Visuals: Use the Color picker to assign a specific color to the tag for easier visual identification.
Usage example
If you are creating a tag to control machine speed (e.g., "Heavy Material"), you would typically select Article as the Data type so it can be assigned to materials in the library.
Check out this article in 'Settings' for more details: How to Adjust Machine Speed for Different Materials (Exceptions)
