Goal
This article explains how to: (1) convert an existing orders record to a new quotations record, (2) convert an order to a product template, and (3) convert a quotations record to a new orders record. Follow the steps to reuse data quickly and avoid manual re-entry.
Procedure
Step 1: Find the order
Go to orders. Use the search field or scroll the list to find the order. Click the row to open it.
Step 2: Start the conversion to a quotation
In the upper-right corner, click Convert. From the drop-down list, choose Convert to quotation.
Step 3: Confirm
Confirm the action to create the new quotation.
Step 4: Review and complete the new quotation
A new quotation is created. Add any missing information and update the calculation as needed.
Tip: Do not forget to add the
companies name.
Step 5: Start the conversion to a product template
From the same order, click Convert in the upper-right corner. From the drop-down list, choose Convert to product template.
Step 6: Confirm
Confirm your choice to create the product template.
Step 7: Review and adjust the product template
A new product template is created as an exact copy of the order data. Make any changes you need to customize it.
Step 8: Find the quotation
Go to quotations. Use the search field or scroll the list to find the quotation. Click the row to open it.
Step 9: Start the conversion to a new order
In the upper-right corner, click Convert. From the drop-down list, choose Convert to order.
Step 10: Confirm
Confirm the action to create the new order.
Step 11: Review and complete the new order
A new order is created. Add any missing information, make necessary changes, and set dates to make planning possible.
If you confirm a conversion, the system creates a new record. Review the new record carefully before sharing it with a customer or sending it to planning.
