Procedure

Step 1: Open Work objects in Settings

Go to Settings, then click Work object.

Step 2: Start a new work object

On the Work object page, click "Add new".

Step 3: Enter Basic information

Complete the mandatory fields:

  • Name

Also review and fill these fields, if relevant:

  • Standard production place
  • Imposition types
  • Allowed folding block types
  • Schedule (if you will use planning)

Step 4: Save the new work object

Click "Save". This is the only time you need to click Save. After this, all new changes are saved automatically.

Idea
For more details about each field, see the page "Work object form fields - digital print" in the help center (http://support.omikai.com).

Step 5: Add a Description

Use the Description field for notes and local information about this work object.

Step 6: Configure Settings

Set the basic parameters for calculation in the Settings section.

Idea
There are several ways to set up the cost of a digital press, depending on how you calculate:
  • If your cost-per-click agreement includes color, leave the fields "Color Weight" and "Price Color" empty.
  • If your cost-per-click agreement does not include color, fill in "Color Weight" and "Price Color".
  • You can use an hourly cost instead of a click cost.
Warning
Do not combine hourly cost with click cost. You may add a color cost to the hourly cost if needed.
Idea
Create a test calculation that includes your new work object and verify the result.
