Goal
This guide shows how to set the desired sheet length (cut-off) for digital web or large-format print. You will add product details, enter a custom sheet format, check margins, and review material usage.
Procedure
Step 1: Add product details, workplace, and material
Open the related product. Enter the product information, choose the workplace, and select the material for the job.
Step 2: Go to the product level
Click the Product tab or link to move to the product level of the job.
Step 3: Enter your sheet size in "Custom sheet format"
Find the field named "Custom sheet format" and type the total sheet size. Include extra area before and after the product format (lead-in and lead-out). Example: if your desired sheet length/cut-off is 320, enter 320.
If you use the same measurement often, the support team can add your custom sizes to the Custom sheet format dropdown list.
Step 4: Set margins and confirm the preview
Enter the margin dimensions to verify everything is correct. A sheet image should be displayed. If no image appears, there is an error in the entered values.
If the preview image is missing, review your Custom sheet format and margin values. Correct any mistakes and try again.
Step 5: Check "Net sheets"
Review the value in "Net sheets". This is the number of net sheets the system has calculated for the job.
Step 6: See material usage in "Article"
Click the button "Article" to view a summary of the calculated material usage. You can also open articles for detailed information if needed.
Step 7: Read the total material need
Check the total material need in the summary (for example, 6,77 kilos).
